Customer satisfaction is our top priority and we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We have set specific guidelines to ensure a quick and hassle-free return and exchange process.
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return or exchange the product within 7 days of receipt as long as the product is returned in new, unused, and resalable condition inside its original packaging.
ORDERS UNDER $100 can be returned without a restocking fee. ALL RETURNS OVER $100 require a restocking fee ranging from 10%-20%. For specific information regarding restocking fees on particular items, please email our customer service department at customerservice@modernmaterialsdesign.com.
Any FABRIC ITEM (this includes rugs, pillows, bedding, and sofas) and any item marked as "Special Order" are not returnable, unless they were damaged during transit or is defective from manufacturer. This is due to hygiene issues and risk that arise when these items are in someone’s home.
Items must be unassembled and unused, in their original condition and packaging, complete with all materials and manuals. Please contact us to request a Return Authorization form. Once you have received and completed the form, simply attach it to the original box and send it directly to the address indicated. All returns must be post-marked within 7 days of delivery. Returns will not be accepted if not returned in original packaging
In the unlikely event that your order is incorrect, missing parts, damaged or defective, please email us within 10 days and we will send you the correct product, replacement product, or replacement parts at no cost to you. Please allow our customer service department 24-48 hours to respond.
Unless the item has been damaged, you will be responsible for shipping costs back to the warehouse. All returns must be sent insured for the purchase price. Failure to do so will impair our ability to issue a refund if the item is returned with shipping damage.
Some of our products are offered with free shipping, so please note if you return a product that has free shipping our actual outbound shipping costs will be deducted from your return refund. Returns will be inspected prior to issuing credit. Please keep in mind, credit card companies vary in the time they take to post credits.
If you are returning a product that was originally purchased with a gift certificate, you will receive an in-store credit as your refund. If you are returning a product that was given to you as a gift, you will receive an in-store credit as your refund. The in-store credit can be used on any of our merchandise.
CANCELLATIONS
Our items ship or go into production within a few days. We can only accept cancellations within 24 hours from when your order was placed. If an item has already shipped within this 24 hour period, you will be responsible for paying shipping back to the manufacturer and a restocking fee.
WARRANTY
HOW LONG TO SHIP
Upon approval and verification of credit card information, orders will be processed for shipment. Inconsistent data and billing information may delay your order. Certain orders may require special processing due to limited quantities on particular items. Modern Materials Design will notify customers who have placed orders for these “out of stock” items. On average, most items are shipped within 1 week. However, some items have longer lead times, including custom orders that may take up to 10 weeks. Each product should specify the shipping time estimation. We provide you a specific estimate of the lead time for any of the products on our site, directly on each product page. If you require quicker service, please email us and depending on availability and delivery factors we can try to expedite the process for you. On standard UPS shipments, you can use 2nd Day Shipping for most needs.
WHERE WE SHIP
Deliveries to the 48 contiguous states will be made via Fed Ex Ground or by common carrier depending on the overall weight of your order. The shipping costs are calculated for you during the checkout process. Modern Materials Design may offer shipping specials advertised on the site (like 'Free Shipping for any orders over $500), the calculations for those shipping specials will be calculated during the order process. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. You must provide a street address.
Modern Materials Design does not provide installation, assembly or physical delivery of furniture into residences or businesses. However, on our larger items we do offer a Full Service Delivery. Since our common carriers (UPS FREIGHT, FED EX FREIGHT, ETC.) only provide CURBSIDE DELIVERY. Please do not ask the driver to bring it inside. They are only responsible for unloading it off the truck for you. If you need additional assistance in getting the item inside and/or set up, you will need to purchase the Full Service Delivery option on checkout. . Any costs for installation, assembly or physical delivery of furniture into residences or businesses are the responsibility of the purchaser and not Modern Materials Design, unless otherwise specified with "Full Service Delivery" on the product page. Some Modern Materials Design furniture requires some assembly.
For larger items, please specify any special delivery instructions on in the "Special Notes" area during checkout. Let us know about narrow streets, staircases in apartment buildings, etc. Some delivery companies may charge more if there are abnormal shipping/delivery circumstances. DELIVERY DAY:
PLEASE BE READY AND HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE NECESSARY ON HAND. COMMON CARRIERS WILL ONLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNLOADING IT OFF THEIR TRUCK. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO HANDLE THE PRODUCT FROM THERE.
PLEASE INSPECT YOUR ORDER IMMEDIATELY UPON ARRIVAL. DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE BOX OR ANY PACKAGING MATERIALS UNTIL YOU HAVE INSPECTED YOUR ORDER AND ARE SATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT YOU HAVE RECEIVED. We only have a limited amount of time to file a damage claim, usually only 48 hours after receipt of delivery. Failure to inspect package contents may limit recourse action. If your product was shipped to you by freight carrier (i.e., UPS FREIGHT, FED EX GROUND OR OTHER) please inspect the product for visible damage before the carrier leaves PLEASE MAKE NOTATIONS ON THE BILL OF LADING AND HAVE DRIVER CALL IN AN EXCEPTION FOR THE DAMAGES NOTED.
Do not be afraid to tie up driver and fully inspect any potential damage. Meaning, if you see a small hole in the box, you need to fully remove all packaging and inspect the product, while he waits. If you hear broken glass, that is a good indication that you have damage and you need to refuse such items.
